Skoda Yeti

ADVANTAGES

Durable suspension, good handling

Skodovski thoughtful and comfortable interior

Original recognizable appearance

FLAWS

Many complaints about the rapid corrosion of wheel arches, doors and other elements (sometimes changed under warranty), chrome is also bubbling.

Imperfect heating system.

Small trunk.

The rear door and side windows collect all the road dirt.

If you absolutely need a Yeti with all-wheel drive, then the choice comes down to 1.8 TSI or a 2.0 TDI turbodiesel (140 hp) - it is called the best of the entire line. Both options are not without whims, but quite tenacious.

GEARBOX

There are no special complaints about the 5- and 6-speed manual gearboxes. The 1.6 engine relied on the classic Aisin automatic machine; it also had no terrible ailments.

The attitude towards DSG7 (DQ200 with dry clutch) and DSG6 (DQ250 with wet clutch) is ambiguous even after their deep modernization. Even after 2014, the “seven” still has unsuccessful specimens that can mope to 30,000–40,000 km. The "Six" is initially stronger, but even for it the limit is often called 100-150 thousand. When buying a 4×4 version, it is important to understand that the off-road capabilities of the DSG are limited. If you are going to often move off the asphalt, it is better to take a car with a manual gearbox.

There are no failed positions in the chassis, all elements serve the expected dates, with the exception of the stabilizer struts. The wear of other nodes is actively manifested after 90,000 km.

Accelerated wear of the front brake pads was noticed (30,000–40,000 km go), the discs can survive three sets.

Electrical and electronic failures are often caused by souring of flimsy wiring; one of the weak points is the harnesses in the doors.

Euro NCAP: 2012: 5 stars overall. Driver/passenger 92%, child 78%, pedestrian 46%, security systems 71%.
