Skoda Superb II B6

Skoda Superb B6 is the second generation of the flagship of the Czech company Skoda Auto, which belongs to the German concern VAG. This model, as befits a real business sedan, has a high level of comfort, a spacious interior and is well equipped, but at the same time it is cheaper than many of its competitors. In addition, this car has German roots.

The paintwork keeps well on the body, despite this, scratches and chips are often present in the bow and on the sides. When inspecting a car, special attention must be paid to doorways, since here the paint is rubbed down to metal over the years.

Chrome — painfully tolerates winter operation.

Trunk lid - the problem here is the TwinDoor system, which allows you to open the trunk both in a sedan and in a liftback (with a rear window). Most often, wires break here, microswitches in the lock and a closer with sensors, in the event of a malfunction of which the trunk stops closing tightly, the backlight does not work, etc.

the protective plastic of the headlights is quite soft and prone to rubbing, which leads to a decrease in the quality of the light beam. If you want to extend the life of the headlights, do not be too lazy to cover them with a protective film. Owners of Skoda Superb B6 with adaptive optics, in the event of a breakdown of the adaptive mechanism, need to look for a specialist who knows how to repair it, since buying a new headlight is very expensive.

Electricity - most often the wiring of doors and mirror drives fails here (it breaks), as well as the contacts of the room lighting domes (they rust).

1.4 TSI (BMY) - this unit is a representative of the E111 series. When choosing a Skoda Superb B6 with this engine, you need to understand that it is very sensitive to fuel quality, the intake valves often suffer (they become overgrown with soot).

Although a metal chain is used in the gas distribution mechanism drive, it is difficult to call this assembly problem-free - the chain and its tensioner often need to be replaced for the first 100,000 km. Malfunction of timing drive parts is fraught with a meeting of valves with pistons.

EA 888: two engines of this series are presented here - 1.8 (CDAB) and 2.0 (CCZA). These units, like the younger motor in the line, do not differ in ultra-reliability. The timing chain and its tensioner in most cases do not live up to 150,000 km. At the same run, an increase in oil consumption is observed.

The main reasons are coking of the piston and wear of the piston rings. It is worth noting that both problems are more common in cars manufactured before 2014.

Problem areas include the crankcase ventilation system, oil pump, water pump and oil separator (clogged).

3.6 FSI (CDVA) - this engine is a representative of the EA390 series and is considered the most hassle-free in the line. The main complaints about this engine are caused by its tendency to coking. The disease is manifested by an increase in oil consumption and unstable operation.

Of the operational shortcomings, it is worth noting the unreasonably high fuel consumption (14-16 liters).

DSG7 (DQ250)
DSG7 (DQ250)

DSG7 (DQ250) - this box is endowed with two dry clutches. This gearbox has a bad reputation, especially on cars of the first years of production. The main complaints of the owners of cars with this automatic transmission are caused by the low resource and high cost of replacing the clutch kit, which could wear out by 40,000 km. Trying to improve the situation, the manufacturer released a reinforced clutch, but it rarely lasts more than 100,000 km. A dual-mass flywheel can withstand about the same amount. The shift fork bearings, wiring and sensors are not reliable either.
