Volkswagen Polo 6

Volkswagen Polo car can often be found on the streets of the city. This is a universal model for any driver. The car is securely assembled, behaves well on the road, the interior is moderately comfortable. But the most important thing is the price, which fits well into the budget of the average driver.

The German brand Volkswagen in 1975 released its first car. Over the past four decades, they have undergone many changes and modifications. However, Volkswagen Polo still has weaknesses.

Weak spots in the body

The car is equipped with a low level of sound insulation. At a speed of 90 km / h and above, the noise of the engine, tires and aerodynamic rumble is clearly audible. A thin layer of paint causes multiple chips, scratches with careless handling. Thresholds, doors, handles, hood are especially vulnerable.

However, this is compensated by the double-sided galvanization of the body, thanks to which the metal is protected from corrosion. The only vulnerable point is the bottom, because only the seams are protected with mastic, and the thresholds are covered with a plastic panel.

Disadvantages of Polo electrics

During operation, problems may arise with the glass on the driver's side, the luggage lock and the fixation of the side mirrors. In general, these violations are bypassed by some car owners, but it is still worth paying due attention to them.

Problems with the Polo arise in terms of the failure of the control of the electric amplifier. On older models, at low speeds, the steering wheel independently deviates by 10-15 degrees in both directions. At the same time, the car does not lead anywhere.

Problems with the interior of the Volkswagen Polo

The quality of the interior is in line with the budget option. Everything is done quite well, but it is difficult to call it comfortable. After 1-2 thousand kilometers, creaks appear in the seats, and car owners also note their stiffness. The low-quality, cheap material of the chair does not withstand heavy loads, and after a while, foam rubber begins to pour out of the seat.

Another significant disadvantage is its plastic design. The entire interior is easily scratched, especially the plastic glass of the instrument panel. At the same time, the glass also quickly loosens and begins to dangle, creating an unpleasant creak.

Engine sores

Experience with a 1.6-liter engine indicates problems with starting the engine. After cooling and a long period of inactivity in severe frost, an aluminum engine may not start well. Also, immediately after the purchase, you may encounter an extraneous knock of the motor mount.

Recirculation valves can fail especially in winter. The valve cover gasket tends to get damaged quickly. However, the rest of the German brand engines are reliable and capable of driving at least 200,000 km.

Cons of the brake system Polo

Due to the combination of disc and drum brakes, there is a difference in braking force, which leads to problems in the operation of the ABS. Problems with braking are rare enough to occur after a failure of the system sensors. It is also possible that the vacuum booster is leaking.

Weak spots in headlights

Another vulnerable spot of the Volkswagen Polo is headlights and light bulbs. The side lights usually fail first, followed by fluorescent lamps. Cracks sometimes appear on the rear lighting headlights, while from the inside.

Chassis and suspension problems

According to car owners, the car has weak steering tips. Every 10-15 thousand kilometers they will have to be changed. Operating experience indicates the stiffness of the suspension, which is not able to smooth out the pits when driving on a bumpy road.
