Diagnostic error codes with interpretation, for VW, Skoda, Audi, Seat
The most complete and detailed decoding of error codes (faults) for VAG cars. When malfunctions occur, diagnostic error codes (DTCs) are stored in electronic control units (ECUs) of various vehicle systems, and after reading, they allow you to find the cause of certain problems.
The information is useful for owners of Volkswagen, Skoda, Audi and Seat cars that have any of the diagnostic adapters such as: VAG-Com, VCDS, OBDeleven, Carista OBD2, VAS 5054A, etc., which allows reading VAG errors. An OBD2 type diagnostic adapter (a universal scanner for different brands of cars) is not suitable for these purposes because will show only a very limited number of errors without seeing the rest. The OBD2 scanner will be able to display OBD II standard fault codes only from the “Error code (OBD II)” column.
Please note that the error code does not always show the exact location of the problem; from personal experience I can say that there are situations when there is an error in some sensor and in the end the problem turns out to be in the engine control unit.
