Soot on the intake valve
Carbon buildup on the intake valves is typical of direct injection engines and can lead to misfires, rough idling, and reduced performance. The best way to avoid such a situation is to change the oil more often than recommended (8,000 km). However, many drivers may not notice the problem until the check engine light comes on.
